Claudia Schwarz is currently employed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of American Studies at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. She holds a doctoral degree in American Studies and established a media-philosophical approach to American news media in her dotoral thesis “The Ethics of Storytelling.”

She teaches courses in American culture, media, and literature. Her current fields of research include trans-disciplinary narratives, creative nonfiction, U.S.-American media culture, and (contemporary) U.S.-American literature.

Outside academia, she worked as a project coordinator and and in public relations for the Youth Red Cross, taught English and Psychology/Philosophy on high school and college level, and has freelanced as graphic designer, English coach, and project manager.
